Dear Students and Families,
It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Canyon View Elementary School. As an experienced educator with a background as an elementary teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal, I bring a deep commitment to ensuring every child's academic growth and personal development.
On behalf of our outstanding Canyon View staff, I want to warmly welcome each of our new and returning families to the upcoming school year. At Canyon View, we place the highest priority on building meaningful relationships with our students and families. Our dedicated teachers and staff are eager to connect with you and your children.
We believe that a strong partnership between school and home is essential for fostering student success. I invite you to be active partners in your child's education journey this year and beyond. Your involvement and support are invaluable.
Academically, Canyon View is committed to continually elevating our instructional practices to meet the needs of each student. Our goal is to prepare all children for future college and career pathways through a rich and well-rounded curriculum.
This includes a balanced literacy approach emphasizing phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and critical reading skills. In math, we will focus on developing problem-solving abilities and foundational computational skills through hands-on learning. Differentiated instruction allows us to meet students at their individual levels.
Our students will also benefit from engaging project-based learning opportunities integrated with technology and STEM concepts like coding and robotics. We offer specialized instruction in Spanish, art, music, physical education and more to nurture the whole child.
In addition to academics, Canyon View prioritizes supporting the social-emotional growth of our students. We follow the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) approach to promote a positive school climate focused on learning.
Families, I encourage you to get involved with our active Family Faculty Organization (FFO). Please join their group on the ParentSquare app to stay updated on FFO events and opportunities. The Parent Square App will be available very soon to families. Please be on the lookout for information regarding how to get logged in.
Your child's teacher will also utilize ParentSquare as a platform for sharing classroom updates, photos, schedules, and coordinating volunteers and conferences. More information will be provided in the coming weeks.
I am truly honored to join the Canyon View community and work alongside our incredible students, families, and staff. Together, we will make this an amazing school year filled with learning, growth, and success. I look forward to connecting with all of you soon.
